Company History

August 1991 STAF Corporation was established in Toriyama-cho, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama with JPY 10,000,000 in capital to serve as each customer’s dedicated “staff,” delivering sales and engineering based on in-house technology and ideas.
October 1991 Hokushin Electronics Co., Ltd. established a factory in Ushijima, Akita, Akita Prefecture.
We invested in the company and started production of antennas and switches for wireless devices.
May 1992 Development of antennas for PHS handsets started.
October 1992 The company relocated to Shin-Yokohama 1-chome, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama to support business expansion.
November 1992 Charging terminals for cordless phones were developed and commercial sales started.
August 1993 Capital increased to JPY 25,000,000.
December 1993 Antennas for PHS handsets were developed and commercial sales started.
February 1995 Antennas for PHS devices were developed and commercial sales started.
June 1995 The company relocated to Shin-Yokohama 2-chome, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama to support business expansion.
An anechoic chamber was installed for antenna evaluation and measurements.
December 1995 Capital increased to JPY 40,000,000.
June 1996 Capital increased to JPY 49,500,000.
August 1998 Antennas for mobile phones were developed and commercial sales started.
May 2000 Display mockups for mobile phones and PHS devices were developed and commercial sales started.
June 2000 Air control valves for blood pressure monitors were developed and commercial sales started.
March 2002 The company relocated to a new headquarters when the STAF Building was completed.
An additional anechoic chamber for antenna evaluation was installed.
March 2004 High-frequency board-to-board connectors were developed and commercial sales started.
October 2004 Conductive hinges for mobile phones and external antennas for gas Smart Meters were developed and commercial sales started.
November 2005 Embedded antennas for mobile phones were developed and commercial sales started.
December 2005 Antennas for mobile phone digital terrestrial TV reception were developed and commercial sales started.

November 2015 Magnetic charging connectors for wearable devices were developed and commercial sales started.
February 2016 E-band antennas (71–76 GHz / 81–86 GHz) for base stations were developed and commercial sales started.
January 2021 One-hand open hinges for notebook PCs were developed and commercial sales started.

  1. STAF Corporation establishes, maintains, and continually improves an environmental management system aligned with ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 to prevent pollution.
  2. STAF Corporation complies with applicable environmental laws and regulations in each region, as well as other requirements to which STAF Corporation agrees.
  3. STAF Corporation identifies the environmental impacts of its business activities and prioritizes the following actions to reduce environmental load.

    • Use electrical energy responsibly and reduce energy consumption by improving office equipment and lighting.
    • Manage waste thoroughly through source reduction, segregation, collection, and recycling.
    • Promote environmentally conscious design and development by restricting the use of hazardous substances, increasing the use of recyclable materials, and simplifying packaging to reduce environmental impact.
  4. STAF Corporation sets environmental objectives and targets, implements them systematically, and reviews them regularly.
  5. STAF Corporation shares environmental awareness across all employees through environmental training and internal communications.
  6. STAF Corporation maintains an organization that enables all employees to participate in environmental management initiatives, provides environmental training and public outreach, and encourages practical environmental improvement and conservation.
    STAF Corporation also communicates this policy to affiliated companies and partner companies and requests their understanding and cooperation in environmental improvement and conservation.
