Single-Band Chip Antenna λ/4 Board-Mount

Single-Band Chip Antenna λ/4 Board-Mount

Standard

The Single-Band Chip Antenna is a compact SMT antenna that covers the 902–928 MHz ISM band and 1.7–2 GHz LTE bands in a 35 (L) × 9 (W) mm footprint — 20% smaller than STAF's through-hole mount stamped metal antenna (1018-456A: 45 × 8 mm). This smaller form factor frees up valuable PCB real estate in space-constrained IoT and M2M devices.

The antenna delivers peak radiation efficiency with a 110 mm ground plane, while STAF's Antenna Optimization Service can tune performance for shorter ground planes to match your specific enclosure constraints.

Supplied in tape-and-reel packaging for automated SMT pick-and-place and reflow soldering, this antenna eliminates manual assembly steps and reduces your production costs at volume.

Detailed application notes covering PCB layout, ground-plane-length vs. efficiency benchmarks, and matching-network values are available on the Download Resources page. For integration support or impedance-matching assistance, contact STAF Corporation directly.

Features

1. Expert Antenna Optimization for Faster Certification

STAF's RF engineers work with your design team to optimize PCB layout, ground-plane geometry, component placement, and impedance-matching networks — ensuring your device meets FCC/IC certification requirements with minimal design iterations.
Operating across the 902–928 MHz ISM band and 1.7–2 GHz LTE bands, this antenna supports LTE Cat-M1, LTE Cat-NB1 (NB-IoT), LoRa, Wi-SUN, and other Sub-GHz LPWA protocols for a wide range of IoT and M2M applications.

2. Compact Form Factor for Easy Integration

Despite its wideband coverage, this antenna measures just 35 (L) × 9 (W) × 3.2 (H) mm — 20% smaller than STAF's through-hole mount stamped metal antenna (1018-456A).
The compact footprint fits easily into space-constrained IoT and M2M enclosures where every millimeter counts.

3. Tape-and-Reel Packaging for Automated SMT Assembly

Supplied in tape-and-reel packaging, this antenna is fully compatible with standard SMT pick-and-place and reflow soldering lines.
Compared to PCB coaxial antennas that require manual cable routing and connector assembly, board-mount SMT installation dramatically reduces labor costs and increases throughput on your production line.
